French manufacturer Venturi is developing a 372mph EV land speed record car, called the VBB-3, with the Ohio State University.
Scheduled for a debut at Bonneville Speed Week (10-16 August), the VBB-3 will be the most powerful electric car produced, with 2958bhp.
If successful, Venturi will beat its own EV speed record, which stands at 307mph. The record was set in 2010 with the company's earlier VBB-2.5.
Though 372mph is the original target, Venturi engineers hope to further refine the concept to eke out its top speed to 434mph.
