Facelifted version of the Audi R8 GT is set to get a limited production run
The first-generation Audi R8 is planned to be sent out on a high with a facelifted version of the limited-run GT, caught here during testing at the Nürburgring.
Set to be unveiled at the Le Mans 24 Hours this year, the supercar will receive a tuned version of the pre-facelift R8 GT’s 5.2-litre V10.
A six-speed manual gearbox will be standard on the upcoming rear-drive GT, with a seven-speed dual-clutch auto offered on the four-wheel-drive version that should be good for 0-62mph in 3.4sec and 199mph.
Changes over the pre-facelift R8 GT include a more prominent front splitter, large side air ducts and a sizeable rear wing.
Audi is expected to call its new car the R8 GT Plus. A Spyder version is set to follow next year.
Performance figures of the new car have not yet been announced, but the previous generation was capable of 0-62mph in just 3.6sec and had a price tag of £142,585.
