The new MercedesS-class will be priced from £62,650 when it goes on sale in the UK in October.
From launch there are three petrol engine options developing either 302bhp or 449bhp, and one 254bhp diesel option.
The entry level S350 BlueTEC diesel in SE Line trim costs £62,650 and is the cleanest model in the range, putting out 146g/km of CO2 and achieving 51.4mpg on a combined cycle.
BlueTEC AMG Line models above that with the same 6-cylinder 258hp diesel engine cost £67,685.
S400 Hybrid models carry a £4000 premium, and both use the same 306hp 6-cylinder petrol engine. They cost £69,650 and £74,685 respectively.
The flagship V8 S500 AMG long wheelbase car, putting out 449bhp and 700lb/ft of torque, costs £88,130. The S500 is the fastest of all launch models, getting from 0-62mph in 4.8sec compared to the 6.8sec taken by the S350 BlueTEC and S400 Hybrid.
For that performance the S500 sacrifices fuel economy, which is the lowest in the range at 31.7mpg combined, it also puts out the most CO2 at 207g/km.
All models are limited to 155mph, and get Mercedes’ seven-speed automatic gearbox as standard. All engines in the range meet Euro-6 emissions standards.
Long wheelbase versions of the car are also available, carrying a £3000 premium over standard length models.
