Fastest Mercedes S-class to cost from £119,565; to be powered by 585bhp engine
The new Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG will be priced from £119,565 when it goes on sale in November.
Mercedes says the car will be powered by a hand-built 585bhp 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo unit, mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed transmission. The manufacturer claims a 0-62mph sprint of 4.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
However, the Driver's Package – a £2,760 option – lifts the top speed to 186mph and secures the customer a place on an AMG ‘Power and Passion’ track day event to learn about the handling capabilities of their car.
Equipped with 19-inch AMG 10-spoke alloy wheels, the S63 AMG uses high-performance composite brakes fitted as standard along with unique AMG sports suspension based on the all new 'Magic Body Control'. Included in the package is the AMG sports exhaust system.
Unique AMG body styling includes all-new front and rear bumpers, which aid cooling and are coupled with AMG-specific side sill panels with silver chrome inserts.
Carbonfibre is available to further enhance the look of the car, including the AMG Exterior Carbon Package at £5,000. The AMG ceramic brake system can also be added for £7,090.
The S63 AMG’s equipment includes the Driving Assistance Package, Front Seat Comfort Package, Panoramic sunroof, Keyless Go Package, the Burmester Surround Sound System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Ambient Lighting - all offered as standard above the outgoing model.
